Hailing from Salzburg, Austria, the merry poppins are first and foremost a live band fusing Balkan styles, jazz, hip hop and 50s cabaret sounds, with a solid base of skankin’ urban roots Reggae.
Inspector Malosso took the guys along to his investigations on the Balkans in May 2009 and the merry poppins hit the road and cruised down all the way to Bulgaria. The trip was quite an adventure with heaps of great experiences, especially due to the wonderful people the merry poppins met on their way in Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Hungary: their special thanks go out to Toza of Domus Music and Rada, who offered a warm welcome, a bunch of mattresses and plenty of beers; to all the crews of the various venues where they performed; ZAA; Masta Basta; … – just to name a few. The tour was friendly supported by the Austrian Cultural Forums in Ljubljana, Zagreb and Beograd and by the Salzburg Culture Funds.
